Cai Wanxiang is currently a Tenure-track Associate Professor at the School of Economics and Business Administration, Chongqing University. He received his PhD from the Utrecht University School of Economics in 2022. He conducted postdoctoral research at Cardiff Business School from 2022 to 2023, and became an Assistant Professor (on a permanent contract) at the University of Bristol Business School from October 2023 to February 2026. His research interests include entrepreneurial finance, social entrepreneurship, entrepreneurial ecosystems, and AI entrepreneurship. His research has been published in top academic journals such as Research Policy, British Journal of Management, and Journal of Economic Geography.
