吴晓东老师毕业于上海交通大学，博士毕业后先后在奥地利Leoben大学材料测试与物理冶金系，澳大利亚Monash大学，以色列Ben-Gurion大学物理系工作，2014年加入重庆大学。长期从事金属材料形变、相变、性能与结构表征方面的工作，目前研究方向为铝合金多维多尺度表征与强韧化，材料加工过程有限元模拟，铝合金异构材料等。
长期兼任国际著名期刊特约审稿人，如：Journal of Materials Science, Journal of Alloys and Compounds, JOM，Materials Science and Engineering A等。
已经在国际著名学术期刊发表学术论文60余篇，发明专利2项。
